Band and Music Electives

At Letha Raney Intermediate School Music Education is a vital part of the learning experience for our students.  The music program at Raney has long been a source of great pride for our entire school community. Our program has a number of goals for the middle school music student including:

  1. The development of musical skills and knowledge about the history and practice of music making.
  2. The development of positive social interaction through music.
  3. To become comfortable with and find enjoyment in music and performance.
  4. The performance of music for the community as a whole.

Students have several opportunities to develop their unique musical talents by making music while at the same time enriching others through a variety of musical performances scheduled throughout the school year.
